Bosch Dishwasher Door Lock Mechanism
Once the washer door is closed the washer can begin operating.
Bosch dishwasher door lock mechanism. The latch serves two purposes. Close inspection seems to indicate a missing spring on the actual latch. The second is to activate the safety switch. The dishwasher works fine.
There is a peg on the rotating latch that drops into a recessed trough looks like there should be a return spring. The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. Suspect the ball bearing door latch mechanism. These will be immediately visible near the latch.
I pulled the door latch 103 on the diagram. Remove the sensor by holding the dishwasher door slightly ajar and removing the two screws holding the sensor in place at the top. The latch can 39 t be reset if it went into the door lock position when the door was open. Door latches are really two different parts.
The reason this happens is because the plastic on the latch starts to warp over time and then instead of flicking backwards when you open the door it will flip forward and over extend past the locking position since there is no latch striker to stop it. Door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. When the dishwasher door latch does not operate as it should your machine will not run this can be a major annoyance but should also be an easy thing to repair. The door has become hard to open.
The door lock will fall free. The first is to pull the door tight and keep it closed to prevent water leaks. Inspect the door lock for damage.
