Car Door Hinge Pin Stuck

Aside from annoying squeaks and noticeable sagging another sure fire way to indicate a faulty door hinge is obviously a stuck door.

Taking a hammer and your nail punch gently ram the pin upwards. It s the right way so you don t disrupt the setting of the door. Continue to tap it up gradually increasing the force until the pin is finally lodged upwards. Tap the bottom of the hinge pin with a hammer and screwdriver to pop up the pin.

Wait for 10 to 15 minutes for the spray to penetrate the hinge. When not taken care of it can lead to other problems such as the hinge itself becoming loose the pins popping out and the door not closing shut or even flying open while you are driving. Put the flat end of the nail against the pin and tap it up with the hammer. When dealing with sharp objects such as a nail make sure you take precautions.

Open and close the door a few times to further distribute the lubricant around the hinge. Spray a silicone lubricating spray over the moving parts of the hinge as well as into the top part of the hinge around the pin. If it still will not come out it may be easier to remove the screws from one leaf which will allow you to remove the door.
