Changing Storm Door From Screen To Glass

Changing storm door from screen to glass. It should slide into the frame as neatly as the glass panel did. It is easy to dismantle not completely a storm door to take out the glass. It should not go in between the screen and the door frame. Slide it into the door channel in front of the screen.

To switch your storm door glass panel to your insect screen or vice versa follow the instructions provided in the youtube video and written instructions below. The glass or insect screen are secured using removable retainer strips on the interior of the door panel. Insert the screen panel into the door. To do so nudge a thin blade or a flathead screwdriver between the door frame and the retaining strip gently pry it from the top of the glass and work your way in the opposite direction.
You may also want to remove your existing screen for replacement if it has become damaged. A pella storm door comes with a glass panel installed but a screen can be purchased as an option. Pull the glass out and place it aside. Use a screwdriver that has a narrow tip to fit it into the corners of the door.
Tips for installing and removing retainer strips. Start at the top of the door and hold the retainer at about a 45 degree angle with the edge with writing on it facing you. Remove the glass and place the screen in the door opening. Secure the screen panel to the door using the spring clips or screwed brackets.
